Out for dinner with a toddler

...isn't that fun? We had a 30 minute wait for a table, so we went next door to a coffee shop so we didn't have to stand in the busy lobby. We finally went back for our table and still had to wait for a good 10min. to get our order taken and a few more til the food arrived. This is where all your talent comes in...how creative are you at passing time with toddlers? Yes, they had crayons and paper, but that doesn't last long with a hungry 2 year old. We had to move all the shakers and sugar packets to the next table over, because they were close to being thrown at nearby onlookers. Who doesn't know what I'm talking about. When the food arrived, we wolfed it down, because it was practically bedtime already and we didn't want the meltdown to happen while we were still at the table. I have a bit of indigestion. But it is always fun to have someone else cook you a meal that doesn't consist of just a burger and fries. At least once every 3 months, it's worth the effort.

we do that periodically take all the kids out to dinner.. and its usually much chaos.. much disorder.. but oh well.. it is fun..we have gotten good at catching stuff as its about to hit the person behind one of us grown ups.. we figure.. we will miss all that when they are older

Oh Sarah. I hear ya! One time when Callie was pretty new, a bunch of family all went out together and by the end, I was close to tears, I was so stressed out. (the food wasn't good either) Oh well, at least I didn't have to do the dishes.

Sarah.. thanks for your comments.. at least now I have a better understanding of the one shoe on the side of the road thing.. teehee.. as far as Nate and his teeth.. he fell and chipped one then it bruised up some and .. they started to rot out so we had to have them removed.... they said they probably wont come in until he is 7 or 8.. so we have a long ways to go with no teeth. He has also broken his nose too ( again do to a fall ) and his arm.. the kid is a regular walking disaster area really.. looks like a little hockey player.. hahah
