I had to take Liam to get his usual immunizations today. He also needed to get a 4th one, cuz he was behind on one. 4! yes, four, the poor guy. He was not at all happy. I DON'T WANT TO BE HERE! Ooh, he was mad. By the fourth one I had to corner him and basically use all my force to hold him there for it. Not at all a fun time. Finally it was over but the kid was MAD. He was still crying during our time in the waiting room after. Then he says to me, why does my tummy hurt? He came and sat on my lap and then proceeded to change to a lovely shade of pale green and then white. I grabbed on to him and then he barfed everywhere and his eyes were rolling back in his head!! ACKKK! I didn't know what to do next, the waiting room was empty as it was already 5pm and Shea was climbing up my leg...Liam and I are covered in vomit. I'm yelling HELP! HELP! Finally someone heard me and came in the room then ran to get the nurses. They started checking his vitals and called the ambulance right away. It was all rather a blur as they raced about. Poor Shea had pooped and one of the nurses had taken him off screaming to change him. We all 3 climbed into the ambulance and off we headed to the hospital.
Thank goodness, all was fine. It wasn't an allergic reaction or anything. It was just his reaction to being hysterical and then almost like if someone faints when they see blood...he basically vomited and fainted. But SCARY!
He now is back to normal after a quick stay at the hospital.

Whoah....he must have been very worked up. I've seen that reaction at the dental office as well when a kid is that upset. Hopefully next time is better!
That's crazy! I am so so so glad that all turned out to be okay. That sounds terrifying!
OH. MY. GOSH!
Glad he's okay. What a story.
Ahh Sush,
That's so awful! I would have been so freaked. Glad you're all OK. Next time you'll have to take Greg with you.

Oh my goodness...scary is right!! I've always worried about the reaction they warn you about during that 'wait' after the immus. I'm so glad it wasn't too serious! What a stinky experience =(
That does not sound like a good day. I am sorry you had to walk that path Sarah. I am thankful that Liam is doing well. You did good, many people would never have does as well as you did. You are a good mom Sarah. Hope your next while is less eventful!
Boo. Poor kid!! Poor mom!
Oh my goodness. I just about choked on my coffee while reading that. Very relieved that he (and you) are ok. You must have been working out to be able to hold Liam still - I'm not sure I would be able to do that with Eli! Thank goodness the next one is YEARS away!

Unfortunately Liam needs to get another needle at the end of the month, and one more in October...to catch up with the HepB shots that weren't given to him in Alberta. UGGGH.
