Baby pictures

Here's a bit closer of his leg, profile and spine.

I hope you all can see this little guy!
They give you this huge x-ray type sheet of pictures and I always wonder what they expect us to do with them...I ended up holding them up next to the window and taking a picture of the x-ray. Pretty clear considering that it's a picture of a picture!
My ultrasound tech was much gentler this time around. The baby still liked his little place face down in my pelvis. She had me rolling on my side but never jabbed my belly like the last lady. So that's over,
and YES...he's definitely all BOY. He isn't shy about proving it, either.
I was glad to catch his profile. He looks as cute as the last two.

So I've succumbed to the croc cult and bought myself a pair. Greg has been singing their praises for almost a year now. I didn't think they look all that pretty, but this new Mary Jane style isn't so clunky and actually fits really well!

It was rather hard to find a pair of sandals at this time of the year! so I'm glad to have these in time for our trip. Only 4 more sleeps!!

Finally got back in

I was having trouble getting signed into my blog ...but finally figured it out again, so here I am.
Not much is new, the reality of a 3rd boy is slowly starting to settle in and I've been trying to get myself more excited as I go through old boxes of baby clothes. I'm already feeling bad for this boy as most clothes have been through 3 boys or more already (I bought some stuff second hand and lent out most). I'll have to go out shopping for some brand spankin new outfits for this guy so he doesn't feel like the hand-me-down kid. I also take a lot of pictures and it'll get rather confusing for me to tell the boys all apart in their photos if they all wear the same baby clothes!! I also need a new umbrella buggy as just this morning I arrived back from walking Riley to school and Liam and the buggy he was in, collapsed right in front of me on the front sidewalk!! It certainly was worn to the ground.
We're anticipating our trip to Maui, not this Monday but the next!! It has been a scramble to get the passports together, and they won't be ready til the day we leave if all goes as it should. The front page of the paper the other day read "Passport Frenzy"...showing and telling of people waiting for hours and hours in line (like poor Greg did)...as everyone needs to have a passport now to enter the States...by January 23rd...only one day after we leave. We could have risked it and gone without as our plane leaves the day before...but we could just imagine them saying, sorry, you may not proceed, while our friends take off on vacation and we're stuck in the Vancouver airport, crying. We'd rather be safe than sorry. It's a quick trip. We leave on Monday afternoon and will be home on Friday morning. I think it'll feel long though as we will have quietness on an entire flight and mornings to sleep in and read and eat in peace. Ahhh. We are going with our other friends who are also parents of 2 boys with a baby on the way. No kids will be present other than the kickers in the belly. I intend to take many pictures, so you will all feel like you came along.

What's inside

Belly

So yesterday came and went. It was my first ultrasound of the pregnancy. I had been waiting for it since the day I realized I was pregnant. This was the first time I was going to find out what we were having. My other two were left as surprises. I'm usually all for keeping it a surprise, but with this planned to be our last baby, and with an upcoming move...I thought it would be smart to somehow prepare myself.
I must admit that I am still in shock as the tech has confirmed and shown me that it is indeed a third boy! A big, healthy boy by the looks of it. Certainly worth celebrating. I must admit that I wasn't trying to get my hopes up, but really had thought the "plans" were that we'd have a little girl in there. I never imagined all boys. I had been dreaming of dollies and dresses, pink tights and tea parties for the last several weeks. So I almost feel like I'm mourning the loss of a little girl that will never be, but also feeling incredible amounts of shame for not feeling as happy as I should be about another healthy little guy. I'm hoping the nasty feelings won't last long and I'm sure they won't. And I hope you read this right, I didn't get pregnant to have a girl...that wasn't it. I wanted another baby and God has definitely given us one that we will love and enjoy as much as the other two. It'll just take me awhile to adjust to the fact that I have all boys...it definitely is "The fox and the hounds".
The little guy was very stubborn. He sat with his little head straight down and in...not giving any profile shot or really anything of the face. The tech was shaking and poking and rolling on my stomach with that camera thing for over an hour. She made me get up and move around, bend over, drink, pee...whatever I could. I was getting really sick of it and all that belly goop and my back always gets incredibly sore on those tables. Poor Greg was waiting out in the lobby with the boys. She finally sent me home with no pictures, and asking that I come back next week as she couldn't get all the measurements they needed. Uggh. So there's the update and hopefully next time I'll have ultrasound pics to share.

Half-baked

Well here I am!! 4 weeks later, at 20 weeks prego. As you can see, I'm comfortably stretched out into my prego pants. I have my ultrasound on Wednesday, and my next doc appointment a week after that, so I can't update you much until then. Apparently a "typical" baby should weigh about 400 grams (about 14 ounces) and would be about 25 centimetres long by this point. (Add a few extra ounces on that statistic to equal one of my "typical" babies.)

We're all back home safely. I can't seem to log into my blog, so I'm doing it via flickr!?
Our house is a mess of course, there is lots to put away. I have many pictures to show and stories to tell, but it'll have to wait for now.

A new Year

So we're still in Salmon Arm. We've had our full of food and parties. We have one last "event" tomorrow night and then we'll be heading back to Cowtown.
The boys have been hacking with coughs through the night, resulting in little sleep, but that's pretty common even at home.
My belly has decided to grow a mile a minute in the last week...so now I look obviously pregnant and can't suck it in anymore ;) I'm half-way there!!?
Riley had a super fun birthday party on Saturday. We started with sledding, and then opened presents at Luke and Pam's with both sides of the family (16 of us). I had made up pizza buns and veggies etc. and then we ate up a blackforest cake that grandma had made. We rushed off after supper to the Davidson/Aylard annual fruit cup hockey game. Greg played and scored us three goals and their team won. We were all rather exhausted after that crazy day. I still can't believe that Riley is indeed 5! He said to me in the van yesterday..."Mom, you'd better give me a hug!" "Why?" "Cuz after 5 comes 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and then I'll be an adult and I won't be around anymore." "But, don't worry, I'll come visit you in my car."
I have many pictures to share, but will do it later when I'm on my own computer.
Happy NEW YEAR y'all!
